Host Family Interest Form
  • Shinshinim Host Family Interest Form

    Dear Prospective Host Family,

Thank you for your interest in the Shinshinim Host Family Program. Shinshinim are Israeli teens spending a gap year sharing Israeli culture and building connections with the Atlanta Jewish community. Learn more about the Shinshinim program HERE.

Hosting a Shinshin for a semester is a unique opportunity to bring Israel into your home, learn about Israeli life firsthand, and form lifelong bonds.

If you’d like to explore this incredible experience and the meaningful connections it can bring to your family, please fill out our interest form. We will be in touch with you to share more information. Thank you so much!

  • The Basics of Hosting a Shinshin:

  • We are looking for families who:

    • Have a warm, loving Jewish home and are excited to welcome a Shinshin as part of the family.
    • Can make time for shared meals and meaningful time together—family dinners and activities really matter!
    • Are able to include the Shinshin in daily life, especially in the evenings and on their weekly day off (they’ll be busy and active in the community!).
    • Can provide a dedicated bedroom that isn’t used for other household needs during their stay—ideally a guest room or unoccupied space. Extra private space is a bonus, but not required.
  • Getting to Know Your Family

  • Format: (000) 000-0000.

  • We place each Shinshin with two host families—one for each semester. The year is generally divided as follows:

First Semester: Mid-August through early January
